Our range of skin peels are medical grade peels and can only be carried out by trained doctors and nurses. They are not available in the high street and should not be confused with very mild and gentle glycolic peels available from beauty therapists.
What is chemical peel?
A chemical peel is most commonly performed for cosmetic reasons, to enhance appearance and self-confidence. Chemical peel therapy may be performed in conjunction with other treatments. However a chemical peel is not a substitute for a facelift, and does not prevent or slow the ageing process.
What types of skin/facial peels are available at Essence Medial?
Glow Peel (Easy Phytic) - This pampering treatment gives an effective exfoliation, stimulating healthy skin from the dermal layers, without the obvious signs of skin flaking. This peel is ideal before a special occasion when carried out at least 4 days in advance, as a ‘pick me up’ treatment and can also used as a maintenance treatment after Easy TCA Peels. Easy TCA Peel - Trichloroaetic acid 15% , a medium depth peel, targeting surface wrinkles and blemishes. Click here for more information
Unideep Peel - Unideep is a chemical skin peel using 23% Trichloroacetic acid (TCA). This is a deeper skin peel producing more obvious skin peeling which may last up to 1 week. A deep skin regeneration for photo ageing, acne, smoothing of acne scars, melasma, chloasma, keratosis and fine lines. It has the same benefits as a course of 4 Easy TCA Peels but using a stronger solution so that one treatment is sufficient. As well as on the face, the Unideep Skin Peel can be performed on the neck, chest, hands, back, arms and legs. Skin preparation prior to peeling is necessary and skin care and avoidance of sun exposure are essential afterwards.
As this is a deep peel there will be some downtime and it may be necessary to take a week off work during the peeling phase. Unideep peels are usually carried out as a single treatment but maybe repeated periodically. They produce brighter, smoother skin texture and reduce pigmentation to give a more even tone.
Only Touch Peel - This is one of the most powerful Trichoroacetic Acid peels available. It is used on small, localised skin imperfections. Two treatments are normally necessary. Can only be used with Easy TCA peel.
