Our range of skin peels are medical grade peels and can only be carried out by trained doctors and nurses. They are not available in the high street and should not be confused with very mild and gentle glycolic peels available from beauty therapists.
What is chemical peel?
A chemical peel is most commonly performed for cosmetic reasons, to enhance appearance and self-confidence. Chemical peel therapy may be performed in conjunction with other treatments. However a chemical peel is not a substitute for a facelift, and does not prevent or slow the ageing process.
What types of skin/facial peels are available at Essence Medical?
Superficial Peel

Medium-depth Peel
TCA (Trichloroacetic) Peel - Trichloroacetic acid 15% , a medium depth peel, targeting surface wrinkles, pigmentations, sun spots and blemishes. Click here for more information
Deep Peel
Phenol Peels - are the deepest type of chemical skin peel. They penetrate the skin deeper than AHA or TCA peels to address more serious imperfections such as blotchiness, severely sun damaged skin, coarse wrinkles and acne scars. Compared to superficial chemical peels and medium-depth peels, deep chemical peels have more dramatic results, and only a single treatment is required. Click here for more information
As this is a deep peel there will be some downtime and it may be necessary to take 1-2 weeks off work during the peeling phase.
